Google + Communities
Google+ Communities was a concept that I have never heard about. With LinkedIn, and Twitter, it is easy to see how it was missed by me. But now that I have had time to look into the uses of the resource, I am glad that I had the opportunity to be able and explore what they had to offer for me as a future teacher.
A majority of the groups that I joined were small groups focused on FFA and Ag Ed. Of the communities that I joined my favorite is WI DPI Agriculture Education / FFA / WAAE. ON here they not only offer resources for classroom discussions, but they also have in the past informed others of online workshops that others can go to or stream live on their computer. It is nice to see that they are wanting to not only grow their teaching skills but help others. Another thing I was able to learn about the group is what AG ED programs focus on more as each state varies.
There are a lot of similarities of this network to Facebook, and LinkedIn, but I really like how specific you can be when searching for new groups. It is also interesting to be able to find individuals around the world in the profession. It got me thinking about the programs that they have, and as well as potentially teaching over seas. One person of in AG Ed in Nigeria is AYONMIKE CHINYERE
